Spring Concert

We were very proud to feature guest soloist Robert Nunez, principal tuba of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and low brass instructor at the University of New Orleans.

 The New Orleans Concert Band was pleased to feature guest conductor Frank Wickes, honoring him on the occasion of his retirement.

We are pleased that eight outstanding high school musicians accepted our invitation to join us for the two patriotic concerts.

Pictures from the July 3rd performance at Lafreniere Park and July 4th at Woldenberg Park on the river.

One of the highlights of the 2007/2008 season was a concert held to honor former director Milton Bush on March 19, 2008. One of the featured pieces from the concert was Mill Mountain Roanoke, written by Mr. Bush and also featured on the cake served at the reception.

Canal Street dedication ceremony

Sept 8, 2007, the band performed as part of the dedication ceremonies for the city's Canal Street improvements. The audience included the mayor and members of the City Council. Set up in front of the Ritz-Carlton hotel, the band performed a variety of traditional marches and New Orleans-themed music. [click on any picture to get a larger view]

Bach Around the Clock 2007

Dr. Taylor directs the Brass Choir as it plays the first set at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Low brass and horns at Trinity. The brass choir performance included Gabrielli, Beethoven and Richard Rogers.

The saxophone quintet performs its set.

 

The clarinet choir performed some five selections that included classical and contemporary tunes.
